How It Works — 3-Stage Filtration + Germicidal UV

Stage 1 — MERV 4 Pre-Filter (F621)

The first stage captures coarse particulate — larger dust, hair, and debris — before it reaches the downstream filters. With 5× the dirt-holding capacity of fiberglass panel filters and a biodegradable construction, this stage extends the life of every filter behind it. Replace monthly.

Stage 2 — Vapor-Lock Carbon/Particulate Filter (VL602)

The second stage combines a pleated particulate filter with activated carbon — capturing finer visible particles while adsorbing odors and VOCs (volatile organic compounds). This is the stage that handles cooking odors, off-gassing, and airborne chemical compounds before they reach the HEPA filter. Replace every 6 months.

Stage 3 — True HEPA Filter (H610C-99)

The final stage is a pre-certified, third-party tested True HEPA filter — 99.97% efficient at 0.3 microns, the most penetrating particle size. It captures bacteria, mold spores, pollen, dust mite debris, smoke particles, soot, and sub-micron particulate that every other filter type passes. Replace every 2–3 years under normal operating conditions.

Germicidal UV-C — Continuous Irradiation Inside the HEPA

The UV625 germicidal lamp is positioned inside the cylindrical HEPA filter — where air is already pre-cleaned. This placement maximizes UV effectiveness against bacteria, mold spores, and viruses trapped on the HEPA media, and against airborne microorganisms passing through. Output: 33 microwatts/cm² measured at 1 meter. No ozone produced.
