About These Filters
This is an optional disposable air cleaning filter that mounts on the large screen filter. Fujitsu describes it as using static electricity to clean fine particles and dust from the air. Its media is treated with catechin, a polyphenol derived from apples, which Fujitsu says absorbs fine dust, mold spores and micro-organisms while inhibiting and deactivating their growth on the filter surface. Fujitsu states that its Apple-Catechin filter technology has received Sensitive Choice approval from the National Asthma Council Australia.
How Many Do You Need?
Owner's manuals list Fujitsu's 9317250009 set, which pairs one Apple-Catechin filter with one Ion Deodorizing filter. That is what one indoor unit holds at a time, but the two filters are on very different schedules: the Apple-Catechin filter is replaced every 3 months, while the Ion Deodorizing filter is washed every 3 months and lasts about 3 years. So over a year, one indoor unit uses four Apple-Catechin filters and only one Ion Deodorizing filter. A second Ion Deodorizing filter is handy as a spare to rotate in while the other dries.
Fujitsu also sells each filter on its own in 2-packs: 9315361035 (UTR-FA16 Apple-Catechin) and 9315361042 (UTR-FA16-2 Ion Deodorizing). That is how we build the packs that match the schedule.
This listing includes:
- 4 Apple-Catechin filters: about 12 months of replacements for one indoor unit

Fit is guaranteed for the models listed under our Compatibility Guarantee. Find your model number on the indoor unit's nameplate, typically on the right-hand side of the unit or on the bottom edge facing the floor.
This part is also used in other Fujitsu models. Fit is guaranteed only for the models listed here.
Care & Replacement
Do not wash: washing damages the filter media. Replace every 3 months. The catechin treatment loses effectiveness as it ages, so keep spare filters sealed until you need them.

Fujitsu FAQs
Fit guaranteed for the models listed
This listing is sold by Fujitsu part number. Under our Compatibility Guarantee, it fits every model listed on this page. Check the model number on your indoor unit's nameplate, typically on the right-hand side of the unit or on the bottom edge facing the floor, before ordering. Go by the nameplate rather than the owner's manual, since one manual usually covers several models.
If your model isn't listed, keep the filters sealed until you've confirmed the fit. Opened filters can't be returned. Send us your model number and we'll confirm the right part before you order.
About performance claims: Statements about antibacterial, anti-virus, anti-allergy, anti-mold, deodorizing or particle-capture performance describe the manufacturer's own testing and claims. They are not claims made by HEPA Filter Sales, and we have not independently tested them. Actual results depend on your unit, how it is maintained and your environment. These filters are not medical devices and are not intended to prevent or treat any illness.
About product images: Photos are illustrative. Multi-pack images are created digitally from a single filter, and color, shading, backgrounds and the look of the filter media may differ from the product you receive. Images do not indicate added layers, backings or a higher filtration level than stated. Filtration rating, materials, dimensions and pack quantity are defined by the product description and specifications.
Returns & Exchanges
We want every order to go smoothly, and if something is not right we want to make it right. At the same time, for the health and safety of everyone — our team, other customers, and the facilities these products are used in — we cannot resell opened or used filtration and air quality products. Our policy below is built around that reality. If you have any questions about a product before ordering, please reach out — we would rather help you get the right thing the first time than deal with a return after the fact.

Opened or used items are not eligible for return or refund under any circumstances. Products designated as Special Order, Clearance, Discontinued, or Final Sale along with Equipment are not eligible for return or exchange.
