Genuine OEM Filter & Holder Kit — 1 Apple-Catechin Filter, 1 Ion Deodorizing Filter, and Replacement Filter Holder Frames

This kit builds on Fujitsu's standard UTR-FA16 / UTR-FA16-2 filter pack by adding a matched set of genuine OEM filter holder frames (K9332911008) — the plastic frames that hold the large screen filters and secure the Apple-Catechin and Ion Deodorizing filters in place inside the unit. It's the right choice when the original holder frames on your ASU-series indoor unit are cracked, brittle, or missing tabs, in addition to needing new filter media.

UTR-FA16 — Apple-Catechin Filter (particle capture)

Fujitsu describes this filter simply: it uses static electricity to clean fine particles and dust from the air. The media is treated with catechin, a polyphenol antioxidant derived from apples, which absorbs fine dust, invisible mold spores, and harmful micro-organisms while inhibiting and deactivating their growth on the filter surface. This is a disposable filter — it should not be washed and is recommended for replacement every 3 months.

UTR-FA16-2 — Ion Deodorization Filter (odor control)

Fujitsu describes this filter as deodorizing by powerfully decomposing absorbed odors using the oxidizing and reducing effects of ions generated by an ultra-fine-particle ceramic. Unlike the Apple-Catechin filter, this one is washable and reusable — Fujitsu notes it can be used for approximately 3 years if washed with water when dirty to restore its surface action.

Filter Holder Frames

The included holder frames are the genuine OEM part that clips into the unit's large screen (return-air) filter and holds the UTR-FA16 and UTR-FA16-2 filters in position. Most ASU-series units require two holder frames per indoor unit, so this kit is sized to fully replace both.
