Product Details

The Austin Air HealthMate Junior is the compact version of Austin Air's most popular purifier — built with the same proven 4-stage filtration technology in a smaller, lighter package designed for smaller rooms, nurseries, home offices, and spaces where the full-size unit would be oversized. At 21 lbs. and 11" x 11" x 16.5", it fits on a tabletop, a nightstand, or in a tight corner without compromise.

The filtration stages are identical in design to the standard HealthMate: two pre-filters, an activated carbon and zeolite blend, and True Medical Grade HEPA. The difference is scale — 30 sq. ft. of HEPA vs. 60, and 6.5 lbs. of carbon/zeolite vs. the full-size unit's larger charge. It draws less power at 82 watts on high and operates at the same noise range. Same Austin Air construction, same warranty, appropriately sized for smaller environments.

Who It's Built For

  • Smaller bedrooms, nurseries, and children's rooms
  • Home offices, apartments, and studio spaces
  • Anyone who wants the Austin Air HealthMate platform in a more compact form
  • Secondary rooms where a full-size unit isn't needed
  • Tabletop or floor placement in tight spaces

HealthMate Junior vs. HealthMate — The Key Difference

Same 4-stage filtration, same technology, same warranties. The Junior uses 30 sq. ft. of Medical Grade HEPA and 6.5 lbs. of activated carbon/zeolite — half the media of the standard HealthMate. If the room is smaller and the air quality demands are similar, the Junior is the right choice. For larger rooms or heavier contamination concerns, the full-size HealthMate is the better fit.

4-Stage Filtration System

  • Stage 1 — Large Particle Pre-Filter: Captures dust, hair, and pet dander visible to the naked eye
  • Stage 2 — Medium Particle Pre-Filter: Removes mold spores, pollen, and fine particulates
  • Stage 3 — 6.5 lbs. of Activated Carbon & Zeolite: Removes chemicals, gases, and odors
  • Stage 4 — 30 Sq. Ft. of True Medical Grade HEPA: Certified to remove 99.97% of airborne particles down to 0.3 microns and 99% down to 0.1 microns — including bacteria and viruses

How to Use It

Place the HealthMate Junior at least 4 inches from any wall. It can be used on the floor or on a tabletop surface. For best personal results, run it in the bedroom 24 hours a day. On first use, run on the high setting for one hour, then adjust to your preferred speed. Monthly, vacuum the exterior screen with a brush attachment. That is the only regular maintenance required.

Filter Replacement Indicator

The HealthMate Junior does not include an electronic filter indicator — by design. Two signals tell you when the filter needs replacement: a noticeable odor coming from the unit (carbon is saturated), or significantly reduced airflow (HEPA is full). Under normal residential use, neither should occur for approximately 5 years.
