In a CAP600 System
The VL602 is the CAP600's standard second-stage filter and runs continuously in a whole-home installation. Abatement Technologies recommends replacing it every 6 to 9 months, and more often with pets, wall-to-wall carpet, frequent cooking, or a home near a busy road.
In a PRED600 or PRED750 Air Scrubber
On the PREDATOR®, the VL602 is an optional upgrade that takes the place of the H502 pleated filter, handling particles and odor in one filter. Use it on mold remediation, demolition and fire restoration jobs where odors or vapors are a concern. Replace it about every six months, or sooner when odor control drops off.
For heavier smoke or VOC work, Abatement Technologies specifies the higher-capacity VL1002 for the PRED750.
Common Questions
Which carbon filter does the CAP600 use?
The VL602, as its standard second-stage filter. It fits the CAP600, CAP600-UV and CAP600-UVP.
VL602 or VL1002 for a PRED750?
Both fit. The VL602 is the standard carbon load, good for occasional odor control and shorter jobs. The VL1002 holds more carbon and lasts longer on heavy smoke, odor or VOC work.

Returns & Exchanges
We want every order to go smoothly, and if something is not right we want to make it right. At the same time, for the health and safety of everyone — our team, other customers, and the facilities these products are used in — we cannot resell opened or used filtration and air quality products. Our policy below is built around that reality. If you have any questions about a product before ordering, please reach out — we would rather help you get the right thing the first time than deal with a return after the fact.
