The Abatement Final Stage 99.97% HEPA Filter has a metal frame and is tested & certified for airflow up to 2,000 CFM per filter. HEPA or high-efficiency particulate arresting filters capture 99.97% of airborne contaminants as small as 0.3 microns in size. This filter removes bacteria, mold spores, soot, pollens, animal hair, animal dander, dust mites, smoke particles, and other allergens and lung-damaging particles.

• Abatement recommends you change the HEPA filter after 9000 hours of use under normal operating conditions.

The Abatement 1st stage replacement pre-filter. The FiberTrap pre-filter is designed to capture the coarsest particles circulating through your air duct system, which helps to extend the life of the 2nd stage carbon-pleated filter and the HEPA filter, saving you money.

Abatement recommended replacement schedule for the pre-filter:

• High Particulate - every 8 hours
• Medium Particulate - every 48 hours
• Low particulate - every 72 hours or until the filter light goes on

The Abatement 2nd stage MERV 8 pleated filter removes finer particulates than the 1st stage pre-filter. The Abatement recommended replacement schedule for the pleated filter - Use the filter indicator light to determine needs:

• High Particulate - approximately every 72 hours
• Medium Particulate - 3x /month
• Low particulate - 1x /month or when filter light goes on

The Abatement 2nd/3rd stage is an optional MERV 7 2nd/3rd-stage vapor-lock pleated particulate carbon filter. This air filter has woven activated carbon media to absorb gases and odors.

Abatement recommended replacement schedule for the VL2002 carbon filter when being used as a 3rd stage filter:

• Determining when to replace the activated carbon filter is somewhat subjective. As the odor, vapor, and/or gas filtration capacity decreases, the user will sense a slight odor or taste of the contaminant, indicating that the filter should be replaced.
