The Aprilaire 201 air filter is the original manufacturer's expandable "accordion" style high efficiency replacement filter media for the Aprilaire models 2200 and 2250 whole house air cleaners.
The 201 replacement filter has a rating of MERV 10. The sizes of the 201 replacement accordion style filter are approximately 3" x 24 1/2" x 6 1/8" collapsed and 20" x 25" x 6 1/8" expanded. The filter ships like a collapsed accordion and is expanded into a plastic frame within the air cleaner cabinet. This is the high efficiency filtering media that is the heart of your air cleaner. The filter media must be in good condition to assure the highest efficiency and trouble-free performance of your air cleaner.
The manufacturer recommends changing the filter media every 1 to 2 years depending on the operation of your heating and/or air conditioning system.
To replace the filter, follow the directions on the box of the replacement media and check your owner's manual for any additional routine maintenance that may be required.
